Bonus terms and what they are worth: four numbers
Bonuses are often written about as ”secret tips”. There are no secrets: a bonus is valued from four numbers, all of which are stated in the terms. This article shows the calculation and which clauses decide the most.
Four numbers that decide the value
- Wagering requirement. How many times the bonus must be staked before the balance can be withdrawn, and whether the multiplier applies to the bonus alone or to bonus plus deposit.
- Maximum stake while wagering. Exceeding it voids the bonus under most terms, and the limit is often just a few euros.
- Winnings cap. Many bonuses limit the withdrawable amount to a multiple, for example five times the bonus.
- Game weighting. Table games often contribute only partly or not at all.
One calculation worth doing before accepting
A hundred-euro bonus at 30× wagering means 3,000 euros staked. A game returning 96 % consumes 120 euros of that on paper – more than the bonus is nominally worth. That does not make the bonus bad; it means its value is not a hundred euros.

Three types of offer and how they differ
A deposit bonus is calculated on a deposit in advance and is conditional money. Cashback is calculated on losses that already happened, and if it is paid as withdrawable cash its value is known exactly. Free spins are worth three numbers: the number of spins, the stake value of one spin, and the wagering requirement on winnings.
In practice, ten per cent withdrawable cashback can be worth more than a hundred per cent bonus if the latter carries a high wagering requirement.
Why a well-targeted offer is a reason for caution
A targeted offer is not a favour but the result of your habits being known: what you play, when, and how you react to a loss. Read the terms with the same care however personal the offer feels.
In a coin model the numbers are different
If a platform runs on coins rather than money, a bonus is not valued from wagering but from the redemption terms: how many coins an activity returns and what a coin is worth at redemption. If either figure is missing, the value cannot be calculated – and the right conclusion is that it is unknown, not that it is generous.
